Central Coast NSW – Top Restaurant & Coffee Lounge

February 11, 2008 by cathy · Leave a Comment

Soon I am off to the Central Coast, only one hour North of Sydney’s CBD. I am listing a restaurant, coffee lounge and catering business located in the Gosford area. What a delightful area, as I drive in I can hear the beautiful bell birds in the trees. It’s a leafy little suburb very close to the sea and a short drive to major shopping centres.

Restaurant Coffee Lounge Central CoastBut you don’t need to go to any other shopping centres today because this business is located in a large shopping open air complex, and what a great listing it is! The owners here are a bit tired, love their job but need a break to get to know the kids and holiday around the countryside. The business has a great outlook, seating outside taking in the warm friendly atmosphere and the great bird life.

Sydney people just love the Central Coast because just like the South Coast its just few short hours to the beautiful beaches, restaurants and a quieter relaxed living. The Central Coast stretches as far as Nelson Bay. Now that’s a great destination. I have just sold my last business there, an ice creamery shop, great little listing,  and I believe the Canadian couple that purchased it are loving it. I have sold over 8 businesses there. I will tell you more about Nelson Bay next time. I’m up there soon for another listing and a sale on another business. Bye for now and have fun!

Shoalhaven River – Houseboats on the Shoalhaven

February 3, 2008 by cathy · Leave a Comment

Well the past 4 weeks I have been all over the place. Just after Christmas I had the pleasure of inspecting one of my favourite listings, House Boats on the Shoalhaven. If you haven’t been to the Shoalhaven Shire you haven’t lived! The business is in Nowra, 2 hours form Sydney and is located on the magnificent Shoalhaven River.

Houseboats on the Shoalhaven River

It’s so beautiful on the river. In my early days I skied on the river till I dropped. The river runs for miles and miles past Longreach and takes in the most georgious scenery you will ever see. It’s a safe river, almost always smooth and pristine, and it’s here where the house boasts are moored. There are two wonderful houseboats all decked out with a barbecue on the decks, full kitchen and very comfy living quarters.

So down we go onto the larger of the 2 boats. I looked over the water and the quiet serene feeling of peace and tranquillity engulfed me. Oh my God what a great life style the owners have. Mark and Lisa are the owners and they have the boats absolutely emaculate and beautifully maintained. Gee they are nice people. They are so friendly and pleasant to talk with and told us lots of good stories about the people who book the boats. And what a great time they have! Some people bring their own ski boat as well and moore the house boat up the river or close to the golf club, that incidentally is located right on this river, and they ski all day, fish and play, then at night party till they drop in the comfort of the house boat.

Lisa was telling me about some lovely old couples who also frequent the house boats. They just love it and are so clean and tidy the boats come back in better condition, if that’s all possible. People come from everywhere in Australia just to enjoy houseboating. I now know why!

Yes this is definately the place to be. It’s God’s own country. I didn’t want to leave this inspection. While Mark showed a buyer around I took in some deep breaths and marvelled over their lifestyle and the beauty of the river. We really should get out of the square we all live in and have fun. For all the years I lived in Nowra I have never had the pleasure of house boating! It’s a real credit to these owners how they have established these house boats. It’s a real task to get them approved and up and running and now some very lucky buyer will reap these rewards.

The Shoalhaven stretches down the coast to Batemans Bay and over the mountains to Kangaroo Valley. There are beautiful beaches all around the Shoalhaven shire. The fishing is terrific, caravan parks, clubs and great shopping are all part of the Shoalhaven. The South Coast of NSW, it’s the place to be.

Lord Howe Island – Fish Videoing Hazards

January 20, 2008 by cathy · Leave a Comment

Last month I got a call from a lovely lady who owns a restaurant bed and breakfast on Lord Howe Island so I packed up my little bag and off I flew to Lord Howe. Have you been there? Gee, the people are so friendly and laid back. The owner wanted me to stay a few days but I had inspections with other buyers all over the state and had only the day and night to get it all listed up.

Lord Howe IslandIf you have never been to Lord Howe and are looking for a quiet time this is it, although I had a great night out with the locals and the fishing there is to die for.

The fish on the beaches are all protected so I tippy toed down to video the fish and yes, you guesed it, fell in while videoing the fish. I managed to throw the camera so thank God the movies were saved but the tourists got a good laugh out of it.

If you’re looking to for a get-away life, yet still have a great social life look up the listing on my site. You never know we might see you there if you descide to buy it. The plane trip’s ok too. Everyone there knows everyone else.

Fishing Charter Sydney – Seasick on Botany Bay

January 5, 2008 by cathy · 8 Comments

Last month took me to the beautiful shores of Botany Bay to list a fishing charter. It’s a beauty if your interested.

Fishing Charter Sydney

Anyway when I was a little kid my good old dad, a retired policeman, took me fishing every single minute we had so I grew up a little fisher girl who rode the open seas of Jervice Bay NSW. Dad always said when we were fishing anyone who keeps a person out at sea when they are seasick should be shot. He claimed this as I was burling the fish up at the back of the boat. We always got a pretty good catch but it took a while for me to recover.

Anyway to list my business at Botany Bay it required looking over the vestle and inspecting the plant and equipment. It was a beautiful day and I couldn’t help but think “what a great life”.

As I was about to sign the vendor on the dotted line a little wave rippled the waters and I sheepishly asked the vendor if he wouldn’t mind me signing him up on the shore, emabarrased to say I was seasick. “My God,” he exclaimed, “we’re still moored to the dock!”

Never the less, we got on famously and I am very confident we will have a sale in the near future.
