Getting Robbed, Hot Flushes & a SCUBA Diving
July 19, 2008 by cathy · 3 Comments
Well I have been everywhere the last few months, running around with buyers from state to state. Some successful, some not so. On one of my trips down the coast I was taking a short break in a park when a man pushing a baby called ”is that your car ’cause it’s just been broken into”. That’s right, the brazen robbers had followed me, smashed my window and robbed me blind.
As the story goes… poor buggars, it’s hard for them isn’t it? I pay for them all my life in my 46 cents in the dollar and then I pay for them some more. That makes the 4th time in one year for me.
Well after a week of rebuilding the Subaru and cancelling credit cards I moved on to a top Sydney listing on the South side. On the water there was a magnificent SCUBA diving business and dive school. Gee, the owners need medals for their dedication to this great icon in Australia. Mike Whitney and Koshie from the morning show dive with these people on a regular basis and endorse it wherever they go. It’s seen on all the getaway shows and now I have the pleasure of selling it. So listen… you want a top adventure business, totally established and known world wide check out the listing on Best Business Buys or give me a call.
On the funny side of the car robbery is when the glass broke all over my seat it jammed up my seat belt and I got stuck in the damn thing. I just couldn’t get to a mechanic in time to fix it, so there I was with my darling little grandchildren aged 7 and 5 in the car and Grandma is caught in the seat belt. If you know anything about the stress of Menopause you will know what a dreadful hot flush is like, particularly when you realise you are stuck and can not get out.
So there I am pulling on the seat belt and having a hot flush and my darling Blair says “Grandma, what will we do?”. I said to them “run into that furniture store and tell the lady Grandma’s stuck in the seat belt”. So in they go… shop full of people of course… “excuse me lady, but my Grandma’s stuck in the car!”
And you guessed it, out comes the whole town to have a look. Everyone’s doing their best to get poor old Grandma out and the looks on my grand kid’s faces were priceless. Chelsea says “Grandma, you’re old now, do you think you will die soon!” God love em!
For the next week I had service station attendants looking at me in despair as I rapped on my window for them to come out and release me from that damn seat belt until I finally got the thing fixed and off again on another mission.

Fishing Charter Sydney – Seasick on Botany Bay
January 5, 2008 by cathy · 8 Comments
Last month took me to the beautiful shores of Botany Bay to list a fishing charter. It’s a beauty if your interested.
Anyway when I was a little kid my good old dad, a retired policeman, took me fishing every single minute we had so I grew up a little fisher girl who rode the open seas of Jervice Bay NSW. Dad always said when we were fishing anyone who keeps a person out at sea when they are seasick should be shot. He claimed this as I was burling the fish up at the back of the boat. We always got a pretty good catch but it took a while for me to recover.
Anyway to list my business at Botany Bay it required looking over the vestle and inspecting the plant and equipment. It was a beautiful day and I couldn’t help but think “what a great life”.
As I was about to sign the vendor on the dotted line a little wave rippled the waters and I sheepishly asked the vendor if he wouldn’t mind me signing him up on the shore, emabarrased to say I was seasick. “My God,” he exclaimed, “we’re still moored to the dock!”
Never the less, we got on famously and I am very confident we will have a sale in the near future.

North Shore Sydney Businesses for Sale
December 21, 2007 by cathy · Leave a Comment
Last week I was in Sydney on the beautiful North Shore and one of my most favourite Shopping Malls, so easy to park and the best day out. Anyway I listed two great retail shops. One is a favourite of my daughter’s. It’s a maternity and baby shop filled with everything to do with with babies and mum. Gosh the owner has done a great job. It’s set out with a huge variety of baby clothes you won’t see anywhere else and lots of great stock.
The mums are in there all day its so appealing, especially for a grandma like me. It’s a fun shop with lovely girls enjoying the job. This is a great money spinner so check out the listing.
The other retail store I listed was a top fashion store. My heavens, what beautiful fit, beautiful design label clothes, shoes, bags and jewellery, and what I really noticed was money wasn’t a object with the shoppers! They were walking out with very luxurious design clothes, bags and the shoes to die for! BTW a top model owns this shop and boy is she easy to look at even if I say so myself! If I lived in Sydney and wanted a great exciting place to meet the locals and shop I wouldn’t go past business like these two.
